Pretty tough tbh

"I've had 2 pairs so far the first I never conditioned the leather and used it through the winter which didn't last a year. My second pair I bought end of May 2025 and they are used and abused but still in decent shape. One crazy highlight about the boots is I never had a leak in them. I have had rubbers that leaked with less use and these boots will literally not spring a leak till its hanging on its last thread. The soles are torn in some spots no water issues. One issue is the nose of the boot splits pretty early on, nothing a bit of PL can't fix. Another issue is the inside fabric wall by the heel comes loose and grabs on the heel when pulling put my foot. Overall pretty dang good boots"

Great until they aren't

"I am on my second pair of these boots, they are pretty good boot until the soles fall off. They seem to only be glued on. Buy some shoe goo to extend their life."

Arriat vrs Kodiak

"These boots should have a 4. 5 overall rating, Bought these from TSC (Peavy mart) summer (2024) as a summer set because my new Arriats are quite hotand dont breath well. Glad I did because these are now my favorite boot. Head to head against the Arriats these are lighter more comfortable and better quality. The only thing I prefer more from the Arriats is the square toe over a round just based on appearance. The Arriats also have a nicer looking top of the boot with design and coloured stiching however the Kodiak is solid leather and lined from top to bottom on the inside with a thin lining making it more comfortable without the use of tall socks. My Arriats started to wear in the back along the heal and basically wrecked the insole to the point I need to replace (4 months use) the Kodiak however still look and feel new a year and a half later. Wish I could upload pictures of both boots but I will never buy Arriats again. Kodiak keep up the good work, I will be a customer for life."

"Well put together boot. Nice thick leather. Fits true to size. Was a bit stiff when new, but broke in within a week. Now, these boots are about as comfortable as a pair of your favourite sneakers."

How many millimeters thick is the leather on the McKinney Wellington ?: The McKinney is 1.8-2.0 mm thick.
Are these good for colder temperatures?: The McKinney wellington is an uninsulated boot, so it would depend on the outside temperature as well as how active you are. The Lundbreck Shiled may be a better alternative as it has 200 gm Thinsulate insulation for temperature regulation.
How are they in the cold?: The McKinney Wellington has not been cold rated and does not have Thinsulate insulation.
