Too hard to get on

"I bought these because my previous pair were great. Sadly these were not. I could not get them on. My feet just wouldn’t go down and into the boot. I tried thin socks. I tried thick socks. I tried no socks. I tried a long shoe horn. I tried a short shoe horn. Nothing worked for me. Alas I had to send them back."

Perfect

"Originally I ordered an 11. 5 because I tied other Chelseas and they were too small but it was too big. I sent them back requesting a size 11 and Kodiak sent them too me. They were perfect and look fantastic! Thanks!"

Chelsea

"Seems to be a solid rugged boot. A bit stiff when they come out of the box, but a softening up."

— Garry B. (5/5)

Blisters

"Boots tore up my heals leaving blisters after the first day. I powered through trying to break them in to no avail. I gave away to a coworker and the same thing happened with his feet. The boots now sit under my desk collecting dust."

Ok. Like the soles. Uppers

"Ok. Like the soles. Uppers well made but for me tight in the vamp. Had to stretch them to get on. Good fit otherwise. Same with Wellington Mckinneys. Shafts needed stretching to get on."

— Dennis C. (3/5)

I just love these boots.

"I just love these boots. It took ages to get on (and off) first time, but the more I wear them the more they just fit like a glove. I hate getting them messy but i did buy them for general duties around my property."

Q&A

What should I treat them with
Hi Gary, here's info from our product team: To maintain the leather, there are a few things that can be done. 1. , You can use a Leather Protector Spray every few months on them. 2. You can also use a Waterproof Leather Cleaner if you'd like to clean them. 3. Use a product such as Mink Oil to condition the leather It is very important to point our a few things: • If you do use some type of spray or cleaner, dry them naturally, do NOT put them over a heat source to dry them or the leather will dry out a crack. • If you use a mink oil (which is a great way to condition leather) it will make the leather darker in colour.
How effective are these boots on Street ice after freezing rain?
We recommend [Ice Conqueror 8-inch winter safety boot](https://www.kodiakboots.ca/en/mens-kodiak-ice-conqueror-8"-waterproof-composite-toe-winter-safety-work-boot/4TGD.html) with Vibram Arctic Grip outsole for walking on wet ice as it can be very slippery. McKinney Chelsea boot was not designed for walking on ice.
Are they wide fitting?
These boots are made on a 2E last, which is generous but not overly wide.
I'm looking for size 11 EEEE, do you have this size?
This boot is 2E width; for a 4E fit, which is a very generous wide width, we recommend considering our [Widebody boots](https://www.kodiakboots.ca/en/men/men-collections/men-widebody).
Hey...im interested in these boots for myself. I take a 7.5 wide in women joggers and read that the Chelsea Kodiak wasnt a wide fit...how would it compare to the mens in width?
Men's sizing and women's sizing is different. If you typically wear a women's size 7.5, you would need a men's size 6. Unfortunately, the smallest available men's size in this boot is 7.
